Overview

Active Optical Modules (AOMs) are used to extend high-speed network connectivity over fiber, offering longer reach and lower power consumption compared to copper cables. They are commonly deployed in data centers, enterprise networks, and telecom environments. AOMs include SFP, SFP+, SFP28, QSFP, QSFP-DD, OSFP, and DSFP form factors, each supporting different data rates and link distances .
