What is a Standard PoE Switch?

A standard PoE switch (also called active PoE) complies with IEEE standards such as 802.3af, 802.3at, or 802.3bt, and it provides both data and electrical power over a single Ethernet cable to compatible devices like IP cameras, VoIP phones, and wireless access points .
