High-speed stacked optical cables, including Active Optical Cables (AOCs) and multi-channel assemblies, support data rates from 14 Gbps to over 3,500 Gbps with single-mode or multi-mode fiber and a variety of connector options.
Cable Types and Fiber Options
High-speed optical cables are available in single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) fibers. Single-mode fibers (OS1/OS2) support long distances exceeding 500 meters and are recommended for 200G or 400G Ethernet applications, while multi-mode fibers (OM3/OM4/OM5) are optimized for shorter distances and high-bandwidth applications using laser transmitters .
