FLAG Europe Asia (FEA), originally the Fibre-optic Link Around the Globe, is a 28,000 km submarine cable connecting 18 countries across Asia, Africa, and Europe. It includes the FLAG North Asia Loop (FNAL/RNAL) and FALCON, forming part of the FLAG Global Network. FEA has been operational since 1997 and is now owned by Global Cloud Xchange (GCX), providing critical connectivity for North Asian countries such as Japan, South Korea, and China . Far North Fiber (FNF) is a new trans-Arctic subsea system linking Japan to Europe through the Northwest Passage. Spanning 14,000 km, it offers low-latency connectivity (142 ms round-trip from Tokyo to London) and avoids traditional chokepoints like the Red Sea and South China Sea. The system features 24 fiber pairs with 15 Tbps per pair, with future upgrades expected to reach 18–20 Tbps per pair.
