Distribution box specifications Level 3 and Level 2

Level 2 distribution boxes provide intermediate protection and power distribution, while Level 3 boxes serve as the final junction point for individual electrical appliances with full leakage protection.

Level 2 Distribution Box

Purpose and Function: Level 2 distribution boxes act as an intermediate distribution point under the main distribution box. They provide two-level protection, including leakage protection, and ensure that each switch controls only one electrical device, following the principle of "one machine, one switch, one leakage, one box, one lock" . Construction and Features:

  • Typically features inner and outer doors with a spray-painted exterior for safety and aesthetics .
  • Rainproof tops make them suitable for outdoor use .
  • Busbars are usually made of copper for good conductivity and contact .
  • Can include measuring systems for monitoring electrical parameters .
  • Designed according to construction electricity standards and can accommodate multiple outgoing feeders with MCCBs for protection . Applications:
  • Used in construction sites or industrial projects where intermediate distribution and safety are required.
  • Provides a platform for installing switches, circuit breakers, and other protective devices before the final distribution to appliances .

Level 3 Distribution Box

Purpose and Function: Level 3 distribution boxes are the final junction boxes for individual electrical appliances. They are the last point of connection and include the final leakage protection switch, ensuring maximum safety for end devices . Construction and Features:

  • Can be movable or fixed, depending on the application .
  • Designed to connect appliances directly from the leakage protection switch.
  • Typically smaller and more localized than Level 2 boxes, focusing on final distribution and protection .
  • May include phase-colored insulation or heat-shrinkable busbar tubing for clear identification and safety . Applications:
  • Used for connecting individual machines, tools, or appliances in construction sites, industrial plants, or decentralized building installations .
  • Ensures compliance with safety standards by preventing multiple devices from being controlled by a single switch .
